After getting up, I happily opened the fridge but unexpectedly found that my leftover was gone! And then my shockedness was soon replaced by anger. I really wanted to find out which shameless bastard stole my food and ruined my money-saving plan. I even checked trash cans in common area and looked for the styrofoam box's corpse and asked Daniel at the front desk if he had seen anyone eating a box of enchiladas... However, the truth remains undisclosed until today.

Filled with a spasm of sadness, I went to buy a cup of coffee and came back to try to enjoy the coffee while reading Nation and eating the bread and butter I took from Mango restaurant last night, as I angrily pondered on how to curse the bitch that stole my food... That bitch'd better have food poisoning for 3 consecutive days, and plus car accident. But then I thought car accident might be a bit too much, so 3-day food poisoning would do.

Dustin bought bread, eggs, queso Oaxacano, tomatos, and avocados to make his breakfast. He wanted me to try his delicious and healthy breakfast, but I was totally fed by my anger...

A middle-aged guy went into the hostal to sell hammocks. I asked for the prices and then he never gave up! Dustin didn't know about hammocks so didn't say anything. Luckily Daniel was around us, telling me that the materials were not good and they were too expensive. So I decided not to buy any. But that dude didn't give up easily and kept lowering his prices, trying to convince me into buying it. I didn't know what to do, so I told him that I had to save money for a dress that I liked and asked him to come Wednesday and see if I had enough money left for his hammocks by then.

好喜歡rasta(綠黑紅黃,也是雷鬼常用的顏色)那條。

After breakfast, I went out and bought two more bracelets/ anklelets. I randomly asked the prices of cloth that could be used as a table cloth or decoration, and the two women kept lowering the prices in the hope of persuading me to buy some (but I didn't). I really like the rasta one.

I ran into that hammock guy, and he tried really hard to convince me, but I rejected him politely and told him that I would see how things were on Wednesday.

Then I went to check out another handmade craft store. I saw one bracelet I really liked, but it was too expensive. The owner gave me some free shot coupons and asked me to invite my friends to the party thrown by the restaurant next door tonight. I gave the coupons to Daniel, and Ben and Mark, who stayed in the hostal all day to drink and play cards. Ben asked me many times if I would go to the party many times. This dude probably has no female friends, 'cuz he really needs to work on getting chicks. He's not a bad person and was in fact pretty nice to me (well of course), but he wasn't so friendly to Dustin.

Then Dustin and I decided to explore the other beach when it was still early. It was very crowded, lots of things going on.

We strolled along the beach and observed what tourists were eating. I was very interested in shrimp cocktails and oysters, but was also afraid that if the seafood wasn't fresh (vendors all seemed to have walked for a long time in the sun), I might get myself sick, so couldn't bring myself to try any.

Who'd know that we'd run into that hammock dude again. And he greeted me as if we were friends for a long time... I wonder what his face was like when he found out that we already left before Wednesday. XD

At the end of the beach, there was a mermaid sitting on a sea turtle gazing at the ocean.

There were lots of fishing boats and entertainment facilities. Many fishermen were killing their catch and removing the entrails, attracting lots of greedy seagulls and pelicans. Dustin took a picture of pelicans for Shaggy. He was going to take a picture with them, but they flew away when he went close...

It was so crowded on the beach that oftentimes we had to get our feet wet. A little girl who almost fell thought Dustin was her dad, so she held Dustin's hand before she actually fell. Looking at this, her family and I burst out laughing. After a while, the little girl realized it and put down Dustin's hand. That episode was really cute.

On the way back I bought another anklelet, a wide one with colors that later was often shown in my pictures.

Before we headed back, we finally bought some snacks. Dustin bought tamal, and I bought 3 pescados (fish tacos) for 15 pesos. The hot sauce was delicious! And there was lots of queso.

After finishing our snacks back at the hostal, Dustin went to have a nap, and I went to read Nation again, starting to feel bored by the days without much difference or excitement. Today was the first day of Semana Santa, so the rates of hotels/hostels were all spiking. Our place went from 180 pesos (Dustin got a discounted price at 160 pesos from Daniel) to 600 pesos per night (luckily Dustin was awesome and got a discounted price at 500 pesos from Daniel again). But still, 500 pesos was more than three times of 160 pesos, comparatively extremely expensive. We started to discuss whether we should leave for other places. I had wanted to leave, but Dustin's hangover was too sever to go somewhere far. Today we thought it was about time to leave. Daniel told Dustin that hotel rates in Zipolite were even higher than Puerto Escondido, but I thought even if we had to pay more, it would still be worth it. I was really getting tired of Zicatela.

Someone sketchy showed up at the hostal today, a young man from El Salvador. He acted weird and seemed to have no manners but had some smell (I guessed he hadn't showered for a while). He'd ask for cigarettes and alcohol whenever he saw others have either one. Even though I didn't hide my reluctance to talk to him, he still tried to have small talks with me. So I just left.

I hung out with Mark, Ben, Chris, and BJ at the hostal that afternoon and had a little homemade guacamole that Mark made, pretty good. Dustin went to see the sunset alone and didn't bother to ask me because he wanted to soak in his lonely sadness.

In the evening we went out again, and I bought that black and white overall with 280 pesos (anyway I saved a lot already since I never went to use the Internet or bought any alcohol). Due to some misunderstanding, Dustin ordered the same special deal of enchiladas at Mango restaurant, while I had no appetite since I already had had pescados in the afternoon and was still angry about my food being stolen. But I went to buy tlayudas for tomorrow's breakfast (yeah this time I wouldn't leave it in the fridge). At first it was difficult to communicate since the woman and her older daughter didn't know English. Later when the younger daughter showed up, we used fragmented English and body language and finally got what I wanted. Afterwards, Dustin bought me expensive ice cream to cheer me up.

Then Dustin went to use the Internet again (people in love are so incurably blind), and I went back to the hostal. The people I just met last night were playing cards, and Chris asked me to play with them; losers had to take a shot of course. We played lots of games, including pollo listo, viking, dancing copycat, etc... Mark never understood the rule of viking until having lost so many rounds... Dustin came back and saw us having so much fun so wanted to join us, but when he was done with his shower and back with two beers, people were off the the 1 free shot per guest party already.

So we roamed on the street and the beach. We wanted to check out the free shot party, but it was way too crowded, with queue lining outside the pub. And as soon as we got close, the air became stifling and stuffy, so we gave up and went to see the surf music show at Bazaar Babylon.

In the outdoor yard of Bazaar Babylon, we ran into a Mexican guy who was about my age and who was also on vacation. He spoke pretty good English; he's a newspaper journalist. We talked about Mexican politics with him (well, mainly Dustin talked with him) and asked him about Zipolite. He recommended we check out Zipolite and said that the rates would definitely be cheaper than here (so Daniel lied to us... truly all businessmen are shrewd...), and he himself would go to Zipolite with some friends in two days.

I politely listened to their conversation but was a little impatient because I really wanted to see the show and dance with the music. Later when I heard vigorous drums like African music, I couldn't help but run inside to see. That drum band was so cool! Many people were dancing crazily around them.

When we got back to the hostal, we thought it'd be very difficult to fall asleep with the loud music from next door party, and most was the music played at American college parties. But it was quite the opposite: I fell asleep before Dustin finished his shower.
